<div id="_mcePaste">Leaders of the Republican and Democratic party announced today that they are putting aside their differences and have agreed to work for the good of the country rather than for partisan political advantage.</p>

<div id="_mcePaste">&#8220;It&#8217;s way beyond the time to do this&#8221; said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel.</div>
<div id="_mcePaste">&#8220;The nation has big problems and it&#8217;s time that we concentrated on them and did what is right, regardless of the effect it has on our reelection chances&#8221; added Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid and he an McConnell stood arm in arm behind a podium.</p>

<div id="_mcePaste">In the house, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, standing arm in arm with House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyyer said &#8220;We don&#8217;t care if it offends a small sliver of our base. If something doesn&#8217;t makes sense or is going to cause partisan rancor where just not going to do it.&#8221;</p>

<div id="_mcePaste">&#8220;If the unions and the environmentalists don&#8217;t like it that&#8217;s just too bad,&#8221; said Hoyer. &#8220;It&#8217;s time we concentrated on the things that we and the American people can agree on and forget about the divisive issues for a while.</div>

<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re in negotiations for an agreement to take turns holding office&#8221; said a party official who wanted to remain anonymous do to the sensitivity of the matter. &#8220;Two years for you. Two years for me. It only seems fair.&#8221;</p>
